Expand below to take a look at several content management features in greater detail:
One-to-Many Publishing
Most content management systems (CMSs) are built to support many contributors all feeding one site — you can think of it as a funnel with a single outlet. This is what we call "many-to-one" publishing. Franchises, enterprise marketers, and dealerships need a funnel that has multiple outlets (one per location) in order to maximize their overall web footprint, local search visibility, and local relevance. Traditional CMS systems just aren't built for this. Neither is open source — we checked!
Webtreepro is different ... it's designed so even a single user can publish to many sites simultaneously. Pages and content are easily added by non-technical users; these pages and content can be published everywhere at once. If a page or content item is changed or deleted, the results happen simultaneously, no matter what the number of sites. Have a new national or regional promotion? Get it out in minutes.
Multi-Site Publishing
Creating, managing, and distributing content across one, dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of sites is practical and easy with Webtreepro. Allowing individual site administrators to collaborate by publishing localized relevant content creates an extraordinary difference.
Parent-to-Child Publishing
At Webtreepro, we have a design mechanism affectionately referred to as the parent/child relationship. The parent is the headquarters, or otherwise uniting entity for the organization. The children, as you might expect, are the franchisees or other local members. Contributors for the parent site have a set of controls that determines what happens network-wide. When creating pages or content, the parent site defines the following:
Will this page or content be available to my child sites?
Sometimes, you'll have pages on your parent site that are not destined to be displayed by the rest of the network. This could be your job listings, legal disclaimers, business opportunities, or other "corporate-only" content.
Can my child site users edit this page or content, or is it locked down?
You may have a page that is bound for every site, but should never be edited. This ensures that no local content can be added to the page, nor can it be changed in any way.
Is this page or content required or optional?
You can even create pages that each child site manager can opt into — this is a great way to provide added-value content for your network.
Which child sites should receive this page or content?
You may designate pages to be published on a site-by-site, or group-by-group basis which allows you to select who can display special content, such as someone with elite dealer status, or allowing select people to participate in certain programs.
Blending Global and Local Content on the Same Page
You may also have pages on your child sites that feature content both from the headquarters site, as well as local contributions. Similar to the options available in page settings, each piece of headquarters content can be designated for sharing, edit-ability, required vs. optional, and even site-specific placement.
Scheduled Publishing
The Scheduled Publishing feature of Webtreepro allows you to choose when content and pages appear live on your site. Avoid having stale and dated information — you can now develop promotional banners, messages, and entire pages in advance. It's easy ... just choose a start date and an expiration data for anything you would like to schedule. If you want, we will even remind you with an email before any content expires on your site.
Customer Tips
Use for:
- Limited-time offers
- Holiday messages
- Event announcements
- Staging future promotions
Private Content
Do you have some content that should only be available to certain customers? How about making hidden content available to your sales team — like instructions about a current promotion? By using the Visibility feature in Webtreepro, you can present additional pages, and content to only specified users. Private Content can be set up to be viewed by all login users, or login users with specific role assignments.
Some ways customers are using Private Content:
- To display fulfillment and pricing to sales team
- To offer special promotions to Tier-1 customers
- To post newsletters, and daily new flashes to franchisee owners
Role and Permissions
Using Webtreepro's robust Roles and Permissions you can have content contributed, updated, and reviewed by the right people at the right time. You define the levels of access and control. For example, roles can be created with functions such as content editing, sales promotions, business management, or administrative reporting. When you create a role, you also assign a set of privileges or permissions to it; this determines what actions a user within that role can perform. Permissions can be set site-wide or, by using Advanced Permissions, you can define users that are responsible for a page or a section of your site without opening up access to the entire site.
Workflow Approval
With the Webtreepro Approval Center, you can add another level of control before content, or pages go live on the Internet. This process allows you to set up a workflow approval process to review, approve, or reject submissions.
